programs & workshops
In expanded Pueblo Hispanic Education Foundation’s (PHEF) collaborations beyond higher education institutions, we are able to increase organizational efficiency and enhance organizational effectiveness. The need within the Pueblo community to assist and educate high school students on available opportunities for higher education is at the forefront of PHEF’s vision. PHEF believes that informed individual actions will lead to a more sustainable educational environment with a focus on supporting financially challenged students to realize their goals of attaining a higher education through a college, university or trade school.
Our programs at PHEF are vital to the Pueblo community today. Without it, many local high school graduates would struggle in securing financial assistance for their higher educational dreams and goals. We are energized about our programs because we have already begun to understand its impact on students, their families and the community.

PHEF Partners with Pueblo Community College STEM Lab for three workshops
February 25th, 4-6pm in AB 150 - STEM Career Exploration Circuit
This event is geared more towards middle/high school students and freshmen in college, or college students who are thinking about changing their major. It will be more of an open house event with tables covering different subjects in STEM and what kinds of careers students can pursue if they get a degree in that subject. Christina Mascarenas will also be doing a short presentation on transferring to CSUP.
March 18th, 4-7pm in the Fortino Ballroom (Student Center) - STEM Career and Transfer Fair
This event is geared towards college students who are planning on graduating or transferring soon, or college students who want to start planning their path after college. We're inviting STEM industry partners and representatives from universities in Colorado to table at this event. It will be a good networking opportunity for students.
March 20th, 2-3:30pm - 3D Modeling with tinkerCAD
This is our last event before PCC's spring break, and the last event before PHEF scholarship application is due on April 1st. College students are the intended audience for this one. We'll be teaching the basics of how to use tinkerCAD, a free 3D modeling software that anyone can use. Students are encouraged to bring laptops if they have them, but we also have a limited number of desktops and laptops students can use while they're in the STEM Center.
